FROM THE ROOTS
Discover this amazing plant, one of the most well researched natural medicines developed into a remedy for respiratory tract infections.
FROM THE ROOTS
Pelargonium sidoides shows a remarkable adaptability to many different climatic zones and growing conditions throughout its range of occurrence, estimated at around 600 000 km2. It often occupies the niche of shallow soils where other plants would struggle to survive the extreme conditions.
The root of this humble plant has come to fame and renewed use through the thorough scientific and medical work of the German company Schwabe who developed a remedy, “umckaloabo”, for acute bronchitis and the general cold based on this Southern African plant.
RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTIONS
Helps to ease upper respiratory, bronchitis, or sinus infection symptoms.
CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE
May improve quality of life and decrease symptoms of COPD (e.g. cough severity).
Coughs & Colds
There is some evidence that Pelargonium sidoides extract decreases coughing and sneezing symptoms.
NATURAL OCCURENCE
Pelargonium sidoides (also known as kalwerbossie) occurs from the low-lying coastal areas of the Eastern Cape to the alpine regions of Lesotho and up to 2500m above sea level.
